Classroom Quizzo Rules and Game Play:
This will be our fun way to review what we've learned throughout the week when we've earned Fun Friday. There will be 3 rounds of game play. Each round will offer the teams a chance to earn points. There will also be a Bonus Round and an Individual Bonus Question. The team with the most points at the end of the game will win a treat. Here is how the game will go:
Mr. Marchetti will serve as the Game's Host and DJ! That's right...in between questions, we will be able to listen to some music as part of this Fun Friday activity.
Your first task as a team will be to come up with a team name! Once all team names are turned into me, we will begin! The team with the most unique name will earn a bonus point to start the match.
Round 1: I will ask 5 questions. Questions 1, 2, 4 and 5 will be worth 1 point. Question 3 will usually be a three part question and will be worth 3 points.
After Round 1, there will be a Bonus Round. This will be a worksheet worth 10 points.
Round 2: I will ask 5 questions. Questions 1, 2, 4 and 5 will be worth 1 point. Question 3 will usually be a three part question and will be worth 3 points.
After Round 2, there will be an Individual Bonus Question. In this game everyone on the team will have their own paper with their team name and their first name written on it. I will ask one question that will have a NUMBER answer. It will be a question that no one knows the exact answer so everyone will make their best guess. The person who is closest will get to choose to be one of the following:
· HERO and award their own team 1 points.
· VILLAIN and take 2 points away from any of the other teams in the game.
· GOODIE-TWO-SHOE and earn a Table Ticket for their team.
Round 3: I will ask 5 questions. Questions 1, 2, 4 and 5 will be worth 1 point. Question 3 will usually be a three part question and will be worth 3 points.
·There is also an option to Joker one of the rounds to double your score. BUT you can only Joker once...so choose wisely.
The 3 ROUNDS and the BONUS ROUND will all have a topic or theme (most of them having something to do with the things we learned throughout the week). However, there will always be at least one "FUN" round which will involve things that a typical 2nd Grader would find interesting. It may be music, movies, TV shows, sports, literature, games, etc. The "FUN" round will be foreshadowed in the classroom sometime in the week!
Total Points Available:
Team Name: 1 point for the most creative team name!
Round 1: 7 points
Bonus Round: 10 points
Round 2: 7 points
Individual Bonus Round: 1 point (to one team, possibly)
Round 3: 7 points

Total Possible: 40 is a PERFECT SCORE!
Rules: If you break a rule, your team could lose points:
1. You need to work nicely as a team.
2. Work quietly.
3. Do not blurt out answers.
4. No cheating.
*Choose 1 person to write your answers for all of the rounds.
*Pick a person with really nice handwriting and strong spelling skills.
*Everyone should have scrap paper to write down their ideas for answers.
*If you don't know how to spell a word, stretch it out!
5. If your team breaks any rules or has trouble getting along, Mr. Marchetti can (and will)
deduct points from your team score!
